Mountain Pose
Tadasana
It looks like simply standing, but Mountain Pose is where steady posture and calm begin. Let us build it from the ground up.
3 gentle steps · about a minute
Ground both feet
Stand with your feet together or hip-width apart, and spread your weight evenly through both soles.
Feel the floor beneath you.
Lengthen up
Gently lift up through the crown of your head, soften your knees, and let your chest rise without forcing it.
Grow a little taller on each breath in.
Soften and breathe
Roll your shoulders down and back, let your arms rest by your sides, and simply stand and breathe.
Steady, even breath.
Grounded and tall.
That is Mountain Pose. Calm, steady and the base for everything else. Here is Michelle in the full pose.
Good for: Improves posture and body awareness, steadies balance and settles the mind.
